TruWest Credit Union
A Comprehensive Community Bank Transformation
A branch transformation that skyrockets business account openings per month by 650%? Increases the amount of new checking accounts opened by 50%? Has giddy members lingering in the branch?
When TruWest Credit Union had the opportunity to buy the land across the street of their busiest, but out-of-date branch, they knew it was an opportunity build something from scratch that could change their business.
Armed with the goals of delivering a technology-enabled experience that engages members, while still creating a future-flex design that could be evolved as banking trends change, TruWest knew they had found the perfect partner in DBSI.
Why DBSI? With a comprehensive approach that starts with defining and stacking hands on a strategy, the in-house services of ALL elements including design-build, integrated technology, and engineered experience training—this partnership was a match made in transformation heaven (or in the case, as close as the new land across the street).
Within the first month, TruWest had already seen massive ROI. They were attracting new members who never knew they had been across the street the whole time. Community response and press was incredibly positive. Current members loved the space so much, they were bringing family members and others just to check it out. The best part? New account openings doubled, and new business accounts jumped 650% in the first few months!
Of course, none of this would have been possible without DBSI’s knowledge and working with the city to get the permits approved quickly for land development, connecting individual CU departments together to create a holistic delivery strategy, adding wow elements of digital signage, even integrating all of the technology directly to their teller platform more efficiency. The initial project was so successful, this model is now the standard for TruWest branch locations.
Design Elements
This branch was built with a retail-first approach but did not lose the traditional feeling of a financial institution, which is exactly what TruWest wants to offer its clientele. With teller towers, an open and inviting lobby space, and signature elements like branded furniture, this space stands out while making clients feel like they fit in.
DIGITAL SIGNAGE
Because this credit union is incredibly active in their community, it was very important that this pride was shown off in their branches. To accomplish this, DBSI installed multiple digital signage displays, including a video wall, promotional teller displays, and two community boards.
"DBSI isn't just building us a building, they're achieving a strategy of technology and service for our members."
