- Micro-Branch Transformation -

Texas Tech Credit Union

An On-Campus Micro-Branch

With just under $400 million in assets, close to 35,000 members, and 5 locations, Texas Tech Federal Credit Union is a vibrant credit union headquartered in the heart of Lubbock, Texas that serves a diverse, forward-thinking community. One of those communities is Texas Tech University, so when the opportunity came to place a branch on campus, it was quickly seized. But the building they were given space in, the Health Sciences Center, there was very limited space—which meant a micro-branch was needed.

Because of their existing relationship with DBSI from previous transformations, and DBSI's expertise in the micro-branch space, their newest transformation was only a call away. 

To make the most of the small space, DBSI identified the needs of the branch visitors and staff and then designed around that to ensure ultimate efficiencies. Equipped with spaces for casual and private conversations, technology to self-serve, and even a small lobby, this branch offers ultimate convenience to members with on-campus banking.

Design Elements

When building inside of an existing building it is important to find the perfect balance between blending in and standing out. And in a small space, every element needs to be intentional. DBSI made sure to check both boxes with design elements that complement the surrounding space, while also creating a highly-branded space that allows clients and staff to have advisory conversations.

Technology Elements

To ensure the small space runs well, as well as gets noticed, technology is strategically leveraged in this branch. A check-in kiosk is near the private office, a dynamic digital signage display is in the hallway inviting people into the branch, and a self-service machine is tucked away privately to the side of the branch with another digital display just above it.
